The Games Technology Network (GTN) is a collaborative consortium of four research-intensive universities in North Rhine‑Westphalia—coordinated by H‑BRS—designed to foster game technology research and development in the region. It brings together academic and industry partners to strengthen networking in teaching and education, stimulate innovation through joint development of game technology demonstrators, and ultimately establish a collaborative Games Technology Center as an innovation hub bridging academia, industry, and society

Honu is a story-based adventure and puzzle game from a first-person perspective, developed by the interdisciplinary GameDev team at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS). Developed with Unreal Engine 5, the game invites players to explore a mystical island shrouded in dark fog, featuring lifelike NPCs and village quests—all while experiencing a captivating story centered on relationships and social interaction. Honu has already been presented at Gamescom and aims to offer an authentic, student-led insight into game development, from concept to release, with a planned commercial launch.
